Support Unit
At Miller Public School, we have a seven class Support Unit that caters for the diverse learning needs of students with Autism and intellectual disabilities. All students have an individual learning plan, that is developed in collaboration with families, and are supported to develop their communication skills through the use of a communication application on an iPad - which is available to all students in every classroom.
Teachers work collaboratively to plan and deliver meaningful, relevant and specific teaching and learning activities ensuring all students can participate and achieve success. They also work alongside a Speech Therapy consultant fortnightly to effectively meet the communicative needs of all students.
